Friday Evening Programming

During your visit you’ll watch a Planetarium Star Theatre show, experience a science demonstration in our GroundStation Canada theatre and visit our Observatory, with a tour of our ½ metre Cassegrain telescope, where you will have a chance to discover more about how astronomers use light to learn about stars.

Our programming is recommended for visitors ages 8+. Children must be accompanied by adults. One ticket must be purchased for each member of your group. Please arrive early to allow time for check-in.

 

TIME SLOTS

7:00pm - 9:00pm --- Includes a show in the GroundStation Canada Theatre, Observatory visit and Planetarium Star Theatre Show: Surfing the Solar System - See the solar system as you’ve never seen it before – leave Earth behind to tour some of the most intriguing destinations in our solar system and find out more about some of the latest discoveries about our neighbouring planets.

8:30pm - 10:30pm --- Includes a show in the GroundStation Canada Theatre, Observatory visit and Planetarium Star Theatre Show: Phantom of the Universe - Discover more about dark matter, from the Big Bang, to the theorizing of its existence, to its anticipated discovery at the Large Hadron Collider and the role of scientists associated with Vancouver-based TRIUMF in current scientific breakthroughs.

10:00pm - 11:59pm --- Includes a show in the GroundStation Canada Theatre, Observatory visit and Planetarium Star Theatre Show: Hot and Energetic Universe - Explore some of the most turbulent processes in our universe. Discover how astronomers use different wavelengths of light to reveal objects like supermassive black holes and neutron stars to expand our understanding of the universe.

 

REGISTRATION

Select your desired time slot and purchase a ticket for each member of your party.

Tickets are $14 (plus taxes and fees) per person in your group.

Please arrive early to allow time for check-in out in front of the Space Centre.

PLEASE NOTE: All members of your group will be REQUIRED TO WEAR A FACE MASK. We will have disposable masks available if you need one.
