Daytime Programming (August 7,8,9,12)

During your visit you’ll have time to explore the exhibits in our Cosmic Courtyard gallery, watch a show in the Planetarium Star Theatre, visit our Observatory and our ½ metre Cassegrain telescope, and take part in a special activity about rocket propulsion. Shows in the planetarium will change throughout the day - see details below.

Our programming is recommended for families with children ages 8+. Children must be accompanied by adults. One ticket must be purchased for each member of your group. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for check-in.

 

TIME SLOTS

9:45am - 12:00am --- Includes Cosmic Courtyard, Observatory and Planetarium Show: Surfing the Solar System - See the solar system as you’ve never seen it before – leave Earth behind to tour some of the most intriguing destinations in our solar system and find out more about some of the latest discoveries about our neighbouring planets.

11:00am – 1:15pm --- Includes Cosmic Courtyard, Observatory and Planetarium Star Theatre Show: Phantom of the Universe - Discover more about dark matter, from the Big Bang, to the theorizing of its existence, to its anticipated discovery at the Large Hadron Collider and the role of scientists associated with Vancouver-based TRIUMF in current scientific breakthroughs.

12:15 – 2:30 --- Includes Cosmic Courtyard, Observatory and Planetarium Star Theatre Show: The Sun - Discover the secrets of our star in this planetarium show and experience never-before-seen images of the Sun’s violent surface in immersive fulldome format.

1:30 – 3:45 --- Includes Cosmic Courtyard, Observatory and Planetarium Star Theatre Show: Surfing the Solar System - See the solar system as you’ve never seen it before – leave Earth behind to tour some of the most intriguing destinations in our solar system and find out more about some of the latest discoveries about our neighbouring planets.

3:30pm - 4:30 --- Only includes Planetarium Star Theatre Show: Phantom of the Universe - Discover more about dark matter, from the Big Bang, to the theorizing of its existence, to its anticipated discovery at the Large Hadron Collider and the role of scientists associated with Vancouver-based TRIUMF in current scientific breakthroughs.

 

REGISTRATION

Select your desired time slot and purchase a ticket for each member of your party.

Tickets are $14 (plus taxes and fees) per person in your group, or $10 (plus taxes and fees) for only a Planetarium Star Theatre show at 3:30pm.

Please arrive early to allow time for check-in out in front of the Space Centre.

PLEASE NOTE: All members of your group will be REQUIRED TO WEAR A FACE MASK. We will have disposable masks available if you need one.
